“I can’t say enough about the progress the boys have made. We know we had an outside shot at taking the conference title but Nevada was just too strong tonight,” coach Jeff Lamoureux said. “With the bulk of our top runners returning next year, we feel we’ll have a shot at a conference title next year.”
Nevada won the conference title with 36 points. Greene County totaled 61 points. Other team scores were South Hamilton 65, Roland-Story 80, West Marshall 150, Saydel 157, and PCM 169.
The girls team did not have enough runners for a team score due to Covid-19 quarantines. Sophomore Olivia Shannon finished in 42nd place with a time of 26;06.64. Senior Makala Kafer was right behind her in 43rd place with a time of 26;07.43. Sophomore Autumn Stevens finished 52nd in 27:50.13.
Lamoureux noted the girls are continuing to make progress and that all three runners improved on their times from the Saydel Invitational last Thursday.
Team scores were Roland-Story 29, PCM 64, Nevada 72, West Marshall 83, South Hamilton 103, and Saydel 167.
